Excellence in Construction
GreenSky has achieved both local and national recognition for “Excellence in Construction” through membership with the national Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC). We are also recognized as an Accredited Quality Contractor (ACQ) as a member of the Western Colorado Chapter of ABC (WCOABC), and have received the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) award several times due to our commitment to excellence and safety.
Project Receives National Recognition
We were awarded first place, the “Peak Performance Award for Excellence in Construction, ” by the WCOABC for the Eagle Mine Site Reclamation in 1997. Local winners were then allowed to compete at a national level, where there were more than 400 entries in 76 different divisions. In the December of 1997, GreenSky was notified that we had won the “Merit Award for National Excellence in Construction” in ABC’s competition in the Public Works/Environmental category. ABC is a national organization that currently has 79 chapters representing approximately 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms and 2 million employees. Its membership is representative of the industrial and commercial sectors of construction as well as all other specialties within the U.S. construction industry.
Reams Construction Co. has also received six first and second place “Excellence in Safety” awards as a member of ABC. The competition recognizes those companies who are actively working to create and maintain a safe work environment by making safety a way of doing business. “Excellence in Safety” is determined by a variety of parameters including but not limited to:
- a written safety policy
- regular meetings, seminars, and training
- an industry standard formula for determining the incident rate
Coinciding with this safety program, we have also attained a “Platinum Level” STEP award, the highest that can be achieved.
